The day was an odd one; I stayed in my room for most of it. I heard noises outside in the hall but it seemed strange, alien, this all felt so wrong. Slowly I had moved out of the bed before stumbled over to the balcony to look down at the kingdom that was meant to be mine. My eyes looked over it as I found myself sighing. Once more, I was trapped; my time for adventure was already over. I accepted this as my fate and decided to do what was needed for my kingdom now, pick a man. I was only seven now and the idea of having to pick someone did not seem very great to me. I went to walk out of my room as I heard a loud horn go off in the distance. An intruder? That was odd that almost never happened. Knowing the procedure stated that I stayed inside I walked back over to my bed and sat down before pulling a book from my bedside table and leaned back against the pillows. Being all comfortable, she began to read from her book getting into the story as time passed. Hours passed in a blink of an eye as it was now dark and the moon was high in the sky. There had not been a single horn sounded the rest of the day so I figured the intruder was caught. Even though the day was boring, I had managed to fall asleep rather fast.
The morning came faster than normal; the sun rose up over the trees in the distance causing golden light to splay along the tops of the rooftops in his kingdom of Thiris. It was late into the morning now, meaning everyone was out working in his or her respectable jobs. Slowly I awoke all but rising out of bed like a zombie, my hair fell along my back as I sighed heavily not really wanting to be awake yet. My green eyes opened just barely before shooting wide open with a boy sitting at the end of my bed. Right as I went to react to it all, I felt a hand along my lips. Finally, I was able to focus as my gaze stuck on him for a long moment before realization hit. It must have been obvious by my expression seeing as how he had finally moved his hand off my mouth. “How did you find me?” I whispered moving a bit to get a better look at him. Too much of my surprise and happiness, he was not simply a dream, he was real.
He glanced over at me for a moment before grinning at me showing his amusement in it all. “It wasn’t that hard to find you… princess.”
My face turned bright red hearing him call me a princess. He knew! “B-but”I stuttered my mind not quite understanding how not only he found me, but found out who I was! “I… I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but…”
“You just wanted some freedom.,” he pointed out as he got up from the bed and began to walk around the room with a curious look. It seemed as if he was trying to figure out what was in my room and maybe what all I was hiding.
It took a moment before I had regained my composure before I all but jumped up from my bed and ran over to him grabbing his hands seeing him reaching out for something. “How did you get in here? Wait!” Realization hit again. “You were the reason for the horn yesterday.” Seeing his grin as he looked at me she sighed heavily. “Alright what do you want from me?”
His expression changed as he stared at me for a long moment. “We didn’t finish our adventure.” he pointed out as a matter of factly.
Not only did this boy come out of nowhere, save my butt not once but twice, but also now, he was showing up in my room, in a castle, in a kingdom as an intruder! If that was not crazy enough he was standing here telling me to go on an adventure with him. “You’re crazy.”
To hear this man that I had only met… wait how many days ago? It did not matter. It was funny to hear him talk like this to her. Shaking my head a bit, I chuckled. “Well it’s the morning now, and it’s not like we can leave right now, if anyone sees you they’ll think I’m being kidnapped.”
He stared at me for a long moment. “If that’s what it takes, princess.”
