I hung my head in defeat, he was not about to let me out of this one. “Fine fine, we will continue our adventure.” With that, I walked over to my door, managed to lock it before walking over to her wardrobe, and began to work through things. Thankfully, I managed to find a couple pieces of random clothing and tossed it on the bed. “Well what’s your plan Mr. Kidnapper?” I teased with a little smile.
I was rather happy, I was more than ready to head off with him into their adventure once more but something happened. The world melted around me like a wax setting, I was standing in the middle of it all as the kingdom, the people and even Mark began to melt into a puddle forming at my feet. The world around me was turned into a white background and nothing existed anymore. This new development shocked me, as I almost could not handle it. Seeing everything, I knew and loved melt before my eyes almost destroyed me. I fell to my knees allowing the weird wax to cover the lower half of my body. “No no no!” I yelled out as I finally broke, tears streamed down my face as I punched into the wax only to hear a scream. My eyes widened, they were all still alive? I screamed out once more as I realized I was standing in her people, in her kingdom, in Mark. Screamed echoed repeatedly, as the wax grew higher and suddenly, I was drowning in it and then everything went black.
My eyes shot open feeling a hand on me, they tried to focus but the light was too bright. Squinting as I felt the hand slide up my arm, I finally managed to focus only to see a boy with black hair and one green eye staring at me. It was not that he did not have another eye; it was more that his hair was covering it so I could not see it. My eyes stared at him for a long moment until I noticed he was smiling. “Who…” I went to say something but soon enough he moved in to hug me.
“I’m glad you’re awake, you scared me princess.”
That voice struck me hard. “Mark?” I asked quickly all but pushing him back to look at him again. There was no way, I just watched him melt into wax like the rest of the world. He looked older, different but more handsome somehow. Her hands moved to his face as she pressed both palms to his cheeks. “You look different.”
He smirked at bit “And you don’t?”
I blinked at that response and let her hands fall from his face as I looked down at myself and gasped placing my hands on her slight chest and running down. “When did this happen? I was just seven!” I yelled out shocked by this new development. Obviously, it sounded odd seeing as Mark laughed at me. Turning my gaze towards him, I moved to sit on my knees as I sighed and hugged him again burying my face against his chest. “I watched you melt away… I thought you were gone.”
He was silent for a moment but inevitably hugged me back as he nodded. “I saw it too. Then when I woke up I was older, it is odd how that seemed to work. Either way, princess, if you remember correctly we have an adventure to finish.” He said grabbing my wrist and pulling me out of bed. “Come on, get dressed and let’s go.”
I stumbled a bit as I was pulled to my feet but managed to stay standing. Looking at him, I heard his want and chuckled a bit. “I know, I did say we could, but remember you have to play kidnapper.” I teased as I moved over to my wardrobe once more and began to shuffle through some of the things inside. Frowning I noticed it was all my old clothes that I would not fit into now. Hanging my head, I looked over at him. “Looks like I’m going in this.” I said pointing down to the little dress I was wearing before.
He stared at me. “I’m going to go with no.” he said simply and moved over to my window. “Give me a minute.” He stated before jumping off with not a care in the world.
What the hell? He was crazy! You cannot just jump off a balcony! Groaning out of annoyance of how this boy constantly broke the laws of reality, I walked over to the tall mirror and looked into it with interest. Turning to the side I noticed I was taller now, probably a good 4’9 now. My body was slim but mainly straight, I was just now beginning to have a chest but not much of one. Twirling around a bit, I smiled. “I guess I could get use to this.”
“It’s better than you were before” His voice came out of seemingly nowhere as he tossed a set of clothes at me.
Turning to see him my face turned red as I caught the clothes. “Pfft…” was all Icould manage. I moved over to the changing curtain and slipped behind it to change quickly. By the look of the clothes he got me they were simply black pants and a shirt, it would work well for what they were doing. Managing to fit into them I finally got out from behind the curtain and smiled at him a bit seeing him staring back out of the balcony. “Well I’m ready when you are.” I said in a singsong voice.
“About time.” With that, he grabbed my wrist and yanked me over to the balcony. It was night now, and it was dark enough that with their dark clothing they could easily sneak away if they were smart about this. “No screaming.” He said simply as he tossed me over his shoulder and lept off the balcony.
I was a bit confused until he picked me up and tossed me over his shoulder as if I was nothing causing a soft yelp from me. He said not to scream, why? Next thing I knew they were falling from the balcony causing my eyes to go wide. I hated heights. I clung to his shoulder tightly, probably too tight as I panicked a bit.
Soon enough they landed on the ground and he grunted pulling me off his shoulder trying to get to me uncling from his now aching shoulder. With that, he would take my hand and begin to lead them both out of the kingdom and into the forest beyond the castle gates.
