Hello everyone! It has been a long time it seems! I realize I just wrote something but I feel I need to get back into the swing of things. For one, happy 2017 everyone! I’ve been asked a couple times what my resolution was, I’m not one for resolutions, I normally make goals. I know it sounds the same, but I don’t make then ONLY on new years, they’re kinda like rolling goals, so I wouldn’t really call them resolutions. My main goal would be to finish my degree and get some bills paid off. I know, what a dazzling goal.
When it comes to making goals, I never want to make them too big. As a person I strive to be “perfect” a bit too often. Due to this, I have made many a goal that was unreachable or impossible in a certain time frame. This, of course, caused me to feel like a failure. Because of those incidents, I make sure to make more “reasonable” goals. Though they still may be big, I either won’t be an actual time frame on them, or I’ll make them a little less extreme. An example would be, coming out of high school I wanted to finish my 2 year in under a year. Considering I also wanted to try working 3 jobs, well, that didn’t work too well. Thankfully I don’t do that now.
The point of the matter is this, making goals is a good thing. Working towards something important to you is amazing and I feel it’s a huge sense of accomplishment when you actually succeed in that. Don’t make unrealistic goals. Completing 5 small goals that make up one big goal is just as good and a lot more realistic.
Strive for self improvement! Be a better you! Be open to learn more and always listen!
That’s my new years rant/life lesson? 🙂
