Long ago, when the world was young, the world was made up mostly of land, and a little sea. It was a utopia of forest with many animals and creatures alike. As the gods descended on the world, they all fought over what they would do with this world. First, the gods brought down their creations, for some it was plantlife, for others it was their created race. The god of chaos created beings after his likeness, demons, to plague the land and put on a more sinister touch. This outraged the other gods as none of them brought down creatures like themselves. Enraged, a war raged between the gods as they battled out for dominance over the planet.
In the midst of such an intense battle the landmass began to crumble and split. Instead of one continent, there were many. Instead it being majority land, it was slowly becoming majority water. The battle between the gods waged for centuries, as the demons began to make tribes within the lush forest. They were primitive in nature, but they were quick to pick up on survival instincts. Each tribe held specific ideals and practices. Some were physically strong, some specialized in magic, and some specialized in what would now be known as forbidden arts. As time continued, and more of the world was destroyed within the god’s war, the tribes became territorial and began to wage battle between each other. Many tribes fell to each other as it eventually became an all out slaughter. The world was tainted red with the blood from battle.
A millennium had passed now, as the war between the gods came to an unsettling halt, and the god of chaos seemed to reign supreme. If he had won or if they other gods simply gave up in their interest of the world, was unknown. He slipped down to the world and spoke to his people, giving them knowledge of unforeseen power, and soon enough he began to pick favorites. Those that were deemed the chaos god’s favorites were seen as Lords, and soon governed their own kingdoms. As the land began to change and rot, the kingdoms warred once more to see who would reign supreme.
Around this time, the other gods grew spiteful and began to weave their own wants along the world. With the many scattered continents, some gods would “sneak” down and eradicate the demon population on that continent and bring forth their race on this continent. First came the goddess of times creations, the dragons. Next came the goddess of nature’s people, elves. Finally, the goddess of fate brought the last race, humans. Of course there were other races that were created, but they weren’t specific to a god.
With each of these new races within the world, most stayed on their continent, but others ventured out to a new world. In the center of all of it was where the demons mostly housed. That continent soon housed each race.
The continent of Aerowynn soon had it’s “first discovered” kingdom of Aeria, which housed the elves. Next the demon war had come to a close, creating Edowen, the kingdom of demons, ruled by the 4 Demon Lords. The small tribe of humans, was struggling to survive while creating their own version of a hierarchy.
Deep in the north, a horde of demons ventured as if looking for something. Eventually they came to the northeastern tip of the continent and stumbled along the hidden kingdom of Milinia. Though unknown as to when they arrived here, the demons seemed to catch on to their existence and sought to wipe them out. For 200 years their war waged as the Milinium people wielded the elements and magic far better than the demons ever could. As the tides of battle waged, the milinium people sent out their best mages to subdue the demon lords. Though they were unsuccessful in saving their people, they were able to seal 3 of the 4 demon lords. Infuriated, they brought in more demons to overrun the kingdom and soon enough, they were stomped out.
While Milinia was destroyed, in the south west, a new kingdom was made, Thiris. The kingdom of humans. The first king brought the people together under the idea of their “God” and hoped to dispell this world of the corruption that they face. Due to this belief, they became almost radical in their ideals and believe they were chosen by the gods themselves to cleanse this world.
The world had now evolved. It had changed due to interference of the gods themselves, some had more of an unfair advantage. Each kingdom knows it’s only a matter of time before there is a huge war. In this century, we have the age of man, as the humans begin to learn more of their surroundings and seek to become the higher power on this land.
