A while passed as Rena finally fell asleep. Carefully she moved her off her lap and lied her on the couch. She sighed softly and glanced over towards the window. “You know, you could have come in at any time instead of watching from the shadows.” Rikkas voice cut through the silence as she walked over towards the window and leaned out of it a bit. Her dark red eyes caught glimpse of the sheen of armor. “Abel.”
He was silent, no surprise there, he normally was. Rikka sighed as she hopped out of the window frame. “I know you recognized us watching you earlier, would it kill you to drop by and not just lurk in the shadows?” she stated walking up to him and getting up in his face and glaring up at him. “You’re worrying the girl to death you know.” She pushed at his chest. “And… me” she glanced away with a bit of pit along her cheeks. She sighed heavily and glanced down before turning around to look into the darkness.
“You know she’s been trying awful hard to make this place a good kingdom, she even picked a name for it. Imagine that.” She glanced over her red eyes piercing the darkness. “You know what she called it Abel?” she heard his breath escape his lips as she shook her head. “Ah ah ah…” she quickly placed her finger to his lips, a look of annoyance along her gaze. “ That’s right, Lightsworn, after her protector, you.” She poked his chest again. Rolling her eyes, she walked away from him towards the forest.
“Every night we’ve been protecting his little rag tag group that we call our people with no help. The people can’t even fend for themselves anymore. Hell, they can barely find enough food to survive.” She spun on her heels and glared at him, her hands moving to her hips with a bit of a bitchy attitude. “And where have you been this entire time? Don’t tell me, I can’t tell you. Oh Rikka, it’s important.” She mocked him and poked his face again. “Ugh, you don’t even react, you don’t even try to save yourself, it’s like you don’t care.” She snapped and frowned. “You heard what I told her. I prepared her for you having another woman, I’m sure that’s what this is about right? RIGHT? Abel. We’re not good enough for you anymore, are we. You know what, no; I’m not doing this with you right now. You can talk to us both with your ready. “She stalked towards the door and threw it open dramatically before staking back inside.
The night passed with no issue of course, there was no way something would happen with that man around. Her gaze passed over to Rena. Poor girl. She let out a sigh as she went and laid a hand on her shoulder with a soft whisper. “Your highness, it’s time to wake up.” She chided with a soft laugh in her voice.
It was obvious that Rena wasn’t nearly awake enough for such teasing, seeing as her sleepy blue eyes looked up at her in confusion. It was like the words ‘your highnesses hadn’t quite registered for her yet. Finally, it seemed to click as her eyes shot open and she jumped up to go get dressed and ready for the day. “I shouldn’t have slept in so much, there are things to do.” She snapped and slipped into the other room while yelling. “You should have woke me sooner”
